The Club
A Short Walk from the Lake, a Lifetime from Ordinary.
Ed Wright Park sits between a freshwater lake and a wooded picnic grove, and right in the middle of it: eighteen covered, lighted, blue clay courts where Clearwater's pitchers have been chasing ringers for generations.
It's minutes from Clearwater Beach — but once you're inside the fence, the only thing that matters is forty feet of clay and a stake.
The courts sit in Ed Wright Park, at the corner of M.L. King Jr. Ave and Lakeview Road — 1326 South M.L. King Jr. Ave, Clearwater, FL 33756. Call the club at (727) 370-6329.
Annual membership runs $5.00 per household. In 1990 the clubhouse was enlarged to 24' × 27', and the FSHPA authorized a Hall of Fame exhibit housed at the Clearwater facility.
League play, handicapped at 100%, runs Tuesdays and Thursdays through fall and winter. Sessions start the first week of November at 10:30 a.m. for 8 weeks, with a second session starting mid-January for 8 weeks.
New this year: Astroturf now surrounds every pit, a fresh upgrade to courts that have hosted pitchers for generations.

The clubhouse walls hold the record — including World Champions Carl Steinfeldt and Ron Deckard, and the other pitchers enshrined in the Florida State Horseshoe Pitching Hall of Fame. Their scores are history. Yours is still being written.
